Spotlight: Suggest a Session Topic for the 96th AMS Annual Meeting

Annual Session TopicsWhether you are a student, early career, or established scientist, you can help “jazz up” the New Orleans meeting with your ideas for new session topics! If you would like to see a topic added to the sessions described in the Conference & Symposium listing, contact the Program Chairs listed in the conference information to suggest a session topic that is more "in tune" with your interests. Deadline for suggestions is 15 May.

Volunteer Opportunities

The AMS Council is currently seeking volunteers to serve on the drafting committee for updating or creating AMS Statements: one committee will update and revise the AMS Policy Statement on Prediction and Mitigation of Flash Floods (which has expired) and another will be drafting a new Statement on Weather, Water, and Climate Policy Priorities.

The AMS Policy Program has initiated a new discussion on the AMS Policy Forum on needs, opportunities, and priorities in weather, water, and climate. This discussion explores how information provided by our community helps benefit society today and potentially more so in the future. Please visit the forum and contribute to the discussion.
