SeaSkyFest Invites You to Explore the Wonders of Earth’s Weather, Water, Climate, and Interplanetary SpaceWe hope you can attend the USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, DC, on the weekend of April 28-29, 2012! Over 500 interactive exhibits and stage shows will be together at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, easily accessible from the Mt. Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center stop on the Metro green and yellow lines. Festival hours are Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM and Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM. We especially invite you to explore the Festival’s SeaSkyFest Track, which will engage visitors with activities and hands-on demonstrations exploring the wonders of weather, water, climate, and the solar system. Visitors will be able to try hand-on weather experiments, meet the WeatherBug mascot, explore the extreme weather environment of Antarctica, discover wild weather phenomena like hurricanes and tornadoes, and even sit at the controls of a Doppler on Wheels used by storm chasers. Visitors can delve deep into Earth’s water world, explore how human activity affects local climate, and learn how scientists are unlocking the mysteries of the solar system. Information on careers and educational opportunities will also be available.
