Ron Filadelfo is the Director of the Environment and Energy Research Group at the Center for Naval Analyses in Alexandria, Virginia. In 2007, Dr. Filadelfo led the analysis and writing team that supported the CNA Military Advisory Board study of the effects of climate change on national security, which resulted in the landmark report, National Security and the Threat of Climate Change. Recently, he served on a National Academy of Sciences panel that examined the implications of climate change for US naval forces. His other major area of research at CNA deals with ocean noise and the effects of military sonars on marine mammal populations. His academic training was in physical oceanography.
