Ellen Klicka is a Communications Consultant employed by the Policy Program of the American Meteorological Society in Washington, DC. She focuses on communications strategy, media relations, digital marketing and social media, and participates in communications activities supporting the AMS Commission on the Weather and Climate Enterprise, including the AMS Washington Forum. Ms Klicka Ellen manages a white paper program for the AMS Renewable Energy Committee that empowers industry with scientific knowledge. She helps lead AMS's participation in Congressional Visit Days, including Geosciences Day and Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill. The Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network has called on Ms Klicka to give presentations on social media best practices. She also has supported the AMS Policy Program policy study series and has given presentations at the AMS Annual Meeting. Before earning an MBA degree, Ms Klicka held corporate communications and public relations management positions in the private sector. Most recently, Ms Klicka served as public relations manager for a division of Thomson Reuters that manufactures enterprise software for the legal profession. At Thomson Reuters, she positioned the company as an industry leader and advised senior management on communications strategy. Previously, Ms Klicka was a senior account executive at The Bohle Company, where she led public relations teams and served clients in the high-tech, consumer electronics, pharmaceutical, and video game industries. Ms Klicka has an MBA degree (2011) from George Washington University and a SB degree (1999) in brain and cognitive sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
