Jim Sadler is Chief of the Claims and Appeals Branch of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration in Washington, DC. He is also Director of Claims for the National Flood Insurance Program. Previously Mr. Sadler served as a consultant to FEMA and the property and casualty insurance industry and as claims vice president to the National Flood Insurance Program Direct Servicing Agent and oversaw claims operations for the NFIP Direct Program. He had more than 29 years claims and management experience with the American Mutual Fire Insurance Company and its progeny, Unisun Insurance Company, including increasingly responsible roles from Staff Adjuster to Claims Officer including, beginning in 1983, the Company's NFIP Write Your Own program. Mr. Sadler has a BS degree in business administration from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC) professional designations are from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters and the Insurance Institute of America, respectively.
