The 1st Conference for Early Career Professionals was held in conjunction with the 93rd AMS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. The conference chairs were Matthew Lacke, Scott Mackaro, Andrew Molthan, and Christopher Schultz. The first conference was held the Sunday afternoon before the start of the 93rd AMS Annual Meeting.

- Panel discussion on developing your skill set with panelists including Wendy Abshire (UCAR/COMET), Sam Ng (Metropolitan State College of Denver), Patrick Marsh (University of Oklahoma), and Zachary Byko (Mars Chocolate North America)
- Panel discussion on AMS programs and opportunities with panelists including incoming AMS President Dr. Marshall Shepherd (University of Georgia), Keith Seitter (Executive Director of the AMS), Kenneth Carey (Earth Resources Technology), and Scott Mackaro (Vaisala Inc.)
- Panel discussion on early career issues with panelists including Maureen McCann (KMGH Denver), John McHenry (Baron Advanced Meteorological Systems), Caitlin Buzzas (AMS), Dr. David Changnon (Northern Illinois University)
- The 3rd Annual AMS Reception for Early Career Professionals was held on Sunday evening
