Chapter 1 now available!

Check out American Meteorological Society: 100 Years of Supporting the Scientific Community by Keith L. Seitter, Jinny Nathans, and Sophie Mankins, now in final form on the AMS . This chapter concentrates on support for the scientific research community provided by AMS over its first century.

 

Individual chapters are available online as they are released; when complete a bound version of the Centennial Monograph will be published as part of AMS's Centennial celebration.

Exceptional Undergraduate Presentations

For the first time ever, select undergraduate presentations will be featured during the main conference in a special oral session. Four highly motivated, talented, and engaging undergraduate students with diverse research backgrounds to present at this session planned for Tuesday, 8 January 2019, 12:15–1:15 pm. Full abstracts for these presentations will be available in mid-November.

Drafting new strategic goals

AMS Council is seeking members’ opinions and comments on a draft set of strategic goals intended to guide the AMS into our second century. Our previous strategic goals () served the Society well but are due for an update, especially in light of the upcoming AMS Centennial. A new draft reflecting input from AMS Commissioners, Councilors, and the Planning Commission is and AMS members are invited to weigh in (logon is required). The draft document will be available for comment until 12 November.
