Alicia Wasula owns STM Weather, a meteorological consulting firm based in upstate New York that specializes in reconstruction of past weather events for litigation support, and also provides weather analysis, oral and written briefings and reports for their clients, and expert testimony as needed. Her company is made up of herself and one employee, and firmly fits into the "small business" area of private sector meteorology. She received her BS, MS, and PhD degrees from the University at Albany - State University of New York and received her Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) designation in 2015. In addition to owning STM Weather, she has over a decade of experience teaching both atmospheric science majors and general education courses at the college level. In her community college classes, she taught a wide variety of students, ranging from "typical" college students to retired individuals who were interested in learning about meteorology (she found out that working with these students to help them understand topics was extremely rewarding). She has served on the AMS Board of Certified Consulting Meteorologists, including one year as chair of that board. She is happy to continue to serve her colleagues and peers through the AMS Board on Best Practices.
