Mike Seaman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of Utah in 2000. His twenty-one year career with the National Weather Service began at Western Region Headquarters, followed by stops at forecast offices in Elko, Nevada and Kansas City, Missouri. Mike moved back to Salt Lake City in 2005, where he currently works as a Senior Forecaster at the Salt Lake City Weather Forecast Office. While his passion remains convective weather, he is also interested in mountain meteorology and fire weather, and Mike is currently working toward certification as an Incident Meteorologist (IMET). Mike has been active in AMS, restarting the Utah local chapter and serving in various roles. He recently finished a term serving on the AMS Board of Operational Government Meteorologists.
