Sarah is a Maryland native whose passion for weather and science began in childhood. Sarah earned her degree in Meteorology at Millersville University of Pennsylvania and her project management certification (PMP) through the University of Maryland Global Campus Master's program. Sarah has served the weather industry as a federal employee, federal contractor, and in the private sector for 28 years with a passion for advancing scientific research and technology into National Weather Service operations. She is currently the Science Officer for the National Weather Service’s Meteorological Development Lab (MDL) ensuring methods and best practices are science-based and maintain scientific integrity. She has served on the AMS Weather Analysis and Forecasting Committee and is now happy to support the enterprise as a member of the AMS Board on Best Practices.
