Lizzie Nosek was born and raised in metro-Detroit but is now taking on her undergraduate studies at Valparaiso University. She is a third-year meteorology major with a minor in digital media. She hopes to take these degrees into the career field as a broadcast meteorologist, otherwise known as a station scientist! She has been interested in meteorology since third grade when she was learning about weather in her science class. She knew that broadcast meteorology was her calling during high school when she would watch the nightly news with her mom and observe local TV meteorologists give weather broadcasts.
Lizzie has been a member of Valparaiso University Television (VUTV) for three years now and has anchored the weekly news, recorded weather updates, and has learned essential studio skills. Her proudest accomplishment in VUTV is that she anchored for the 2021 Valparaiso Popcorn Festival, and the newscast had over 64,000 viewers! She also started her own music show and gave weekly news updates for WVUR The Source 95 FM, her university's radio station, earlier this school year.
She graduates from college in 2023 and is very excited to start her professional meteorological career journey!
