McCall Vrydaghs

McCall Vrydaghs is an EMMY award winning and AMS certified broadcast Chief Meteorologist for WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio.

 

Vrydaghs joined WHIO-TV in 2012 as the evening weekend meteorologist before being promoted to Chief Meteorologist in November 2018. She’s covered a variety of weather events in the Miami Valley over the years, including a 100-year-flood on I-70 in 2014, and the Memorial Day Tornado Outbreak of 2019. She tracked 15 tornadoes for nearly 4 hours as they ripped across the Miami Valley, including three EF3 tornadoes and one devastating EF4.

 

When Vrydaghs is not on television she co-hosts a podcast called “Cloudy with a Chance of Podcast”, discussing topics related to weather and other sciences.

Before moving to Ohio, Vrydaghs worked for Verizon FiOS1 News. Her forecasts were seen across New Jersey and Long Island, NY. She also had the pleasure of broadcasting weather for the Yankees on the YES Network and for the Jets and Giants home games at MetLife stadium.

Vrydaghs earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology from SUNY Oswego, New York in 2005.
