Maureen announced that there will be five openings on the committee and encouraged current members to nominate potential candidates.
Discussed SSC presence during the AMS meeting, possibly sharing table space with another booth. Alana will put together a flyer to be printed and handed out.
Discussed setting a standard date and time for SSC call every other month. All members on the call agreed that the first Monday of every other month worked for them. Next call scheduled for Monday, February 5th, 2018 at 2pm EST.
SSC members attending the AMS Meeting in Austin will plan to meet in person immediately after the Station Scientist Session on Tuesday, January 9th 2018 in Ballroom B (ACC) (Austin Convention Center and Hilton ) at 4 pm (or whenever the session wraps up).

The Robert T. Ryan Symposium will conclude with a cocktail reception welcoming symposium attendees, along with Bob's numerous colleagues and former interns from across the weather enterprise. With a short program hosted by symposium co-chair and AMS Fellow Veronica Johnson of WJLA in Washington, D.C., this casual event will honor Bob for his distinguished career, achievements, and contributions to the American Meteorological Society. The cost of the reception is $10 and includes 1 sponsored drink ticket.
