AMS STATION SCIENTIST COMMITTEE MEETING 09/14 @ 10am

Erica spoke with Michelle Mainelli and her team at NWS about increasing engagement with the AMS. Erica suggested proposing session topics for the Broadcast Conference and working with CProf committees to host webinars. Possible topics include:
The Broadcaster's role in building a Weather-Ready Nation
Getting the most out of the new Slack platform for NWS Chat
Updates for media meteorologists about Hazard Simplification projects like FACETs and TIM (threats in motion)
Tips for broadcasters and digital meteorologists to educate their audience about WEA alerts, the difference between a warning and an emergency, etc.
CDM hopefully to launch SOON! Kelly Savoie says they’re still targeting a launch before the end of Sept. CDM Ad Hoc and CDM Board members will get first dibs on applying for the new Seal.
