To promote undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education and training in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences; to comment periodically on requirements for undergraduate education in these disciplines; and to foster knowledge of these areas among scientists and practitioners in related fields. The Board is also responsible for organizing the Heads and Chairs meeting and the AMS Student Symposium. The Board serves as consultant to the AMS Education Program on the need for, and development of, course materials targeting higher education.
