The Fourth Conference on Atmospheric Biogeosciences, sponsored by the American Meteorological Society, will be held May 14-18, 2018 at the Boise Center, in Boise, Idaho, USA. This conference is organized by the AMS Committee on Atmospheric Biogeosciences and jointly held with the 33rd Conference on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology and the 12th Symposium on Fire and Forest Meteorology. Preliminary programs, registration, hotel, and general information will be posted on the AMS Web site by late February, 2018.
The theme for this joint conference is “Exploring the Intersection of Landscape Disturbance and Atmosphere/Biosphere Interactions”. While papers are solicited on all aspects of surface-atmosphere interactions, potential topics to consider include:
The Committee on Atmospheric Biogeosciences of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) is proud to present awards recognizing 3 outstanding oral presentations and 3 outstanding poster presentations given by students at the 33rd Conference on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology/12th Fire and Forest Meteorology Symposium/Fourth Conference on Biogeosciences. These awards recognize outstanding student contributions based on an evaluation of both the submitted written paper and corresponding oral or poster presentation. Students are asked at the time of the abstract submission if they want to be considered for such awards. In addition, students who want to be considered for travel support will be asked to note this when submitting their abstract, and may be asked to submit a note of justification for funds. Students must be the first author on submissions and be presenting their own, original work.
Please submit your abstract electronically via the Web by the deadline date of 19 January 2018 (refer to January the AMS Web page at http://ams.confex.com/ams/). An abstract fee of $95 (payable by credit card or purchase order) is charged at the time of submission (refundable only if abstract is not accepted). Authors of accepted presentations will be notified by the end of Mid-February. Authors of invited and accepted papers will be asked to contribute to the web-based proceedings of the symposium by submitting an extended abstract. Instructions for formatting extended abstracts will be posted on the AMS conference website. Extended abstracts (file size up to 10 MB) must be submitted electronically by 15 June 2018. All abstracts, extended abstracts, and presentations will be made available on the AMS website.

The Second Conference on Atmospheric Biogeosciences, sponsored by the American Meteorological Society, will be held May 12-15, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center, Portland, Oregon.
The conference theme is “Human Impacts on the Earth-Atmosphere System - Past, Present, and Future”
The goal of the conference is to showcase the diversity in research in the field of biosphere-atmosphere interactions. More specifically, the conference is directed toward improving our understanding how the earth-atmosphere system evolves under changing environmental pressures. Sample abstract topics include: atmospheric fluxes of greenhouse gases and other trace gases from ecosystems due to anthropogenic activities; historic perspectives on the human ecological footprint; impacts of biosphere emissions and/or the carbon, nitrogen, and hydrologic cycles on climate and air quality; new techniques or instrumentation in atmospheric biogeosciences; the use of stable isotopes as indicators of biogeochemical processes; the use of remote sensing to monitor terrestrial biosphere changes; and theory and simulation of coupled biophysical, biogeochemical, and ecological processes. The conference will also honor Ray Leuning’s contribution to the atmospheric biogeosciences.
Abstracts related to Atmosphere-Biosphere Interactions are welcome for submission by Friday January 10, 2014 (refer to the AMS Web page at http://ams.confex.com/ams/). {C}Additionally, the Board on Atmospheric Biogeosciences will conduct a student oral and poster competition. Students must be the first author on submissions and be presenting their own, original work.
The conference is organized by the AMS Board on Atmospheric Biogeosicences and jointly held with the 31st AMS Conference on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology.
