The American Meteorological Society promotes the development and dissemination of information and education on the atmospheric and related sciences.
The Committee on Radar Meteorology is one of thirty committees within the AMS Scientific and Technological Activities Commission (STAC). The Committee is charged with leading the Society's activities that are linked to radar and related topics. Most importantly, we oversee one of the AMS's specialty conferences, the AMS Conference on Radar Meteorology, every two years. We also review additions and changes to the Glossary of Meteorology related to radar meteorology, and accept nominations for STAC-level awards within the radar meteorology community. We maintain a strong focus on recruitment into the radar meteorology subfield via webinars, student travel grants to our specialty conference, and various outreach activities.
Please make sure you take a look at the other pages at this site and contact us if you have any comments or suggestions. We also accept rolling applications to volunteer as a member of the Committee as positions become available, and we are always looking for volunteers to help with our conference.
