The 31st Conference on Severe Local Storms will take place at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort in Virginia Beach, VA!
All meeting sessions for the conference will be held at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort at 4201 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA, USA 23541.
AMS has secured a block of rooms at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort and the Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club with a special conference rate.
Accommodations - Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort for meeting attendees at the special rate of $179.00 plus tax and a group of rooms was at the government per diem* rate $120.00 plus tax for those who qualify. Rates do not include applicable taxes, services, or Hotel-specific fees. Please note that there are a limited number of rooms still available. Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. We urge you to book your hotel room at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort as revenue from sleeping rooms helps offset other meeting costs and is passed down to attendees in keeping registration rates to a minimum. The deadline to make your reservation and secure this special rate is Wednesday, 11 September 2024.
Please note that resort fee ($25/room/day) is waived for rooms booked within the AMS room block. The resort fee may show on your reservation at the time of booking, but you will not be charged. Those who book within the AMS room block can opt to include the resort fee, if desired.

Accommodations - Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club
The AMS has been able to secure a limited number of additional rooms at the Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club at the rate of $179.00 plus taxes per night. Rates do not include applicable taxes, services, or Hotel-specific fees. A shuttle between the Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club and the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort will be provided by the hotel based on availability.
Attendee Reservations
$179.00 per night plus applicable taxes and fees

Cancellation Policy
Reservation must be canceled 72 hours before arrival time (Eastern) to avoid a one night room and tax penalty.

Please note that rooms are available at the AMS rate on a space available basis until this date. To ensure you are able to make a reservation at the AMS rate, we recommend you book as soon as possible.
Airport Directions and Transportation
Directions from Norfolk International Airport to Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort (approx. 20 minute drive).
Get on I-64 E from Airport Rd, continue onto Int'l Airport Rd/Robin Hood Rd approx 0.6 mi, VA-165 S and Northampton Blvd. Take I-264 E to 21st St in Virginia Beach approx 9 mi. Take exit 22 from I-264 E. Follow 21st St and Pacific Ave to the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort. Destination will be on your right.
