With its goal to serve society through science and policy, AMS is poised to make major headway on the grand challenge of our times: the future ability of life on our planet to thrive. As your President, I will work with the AMS executive leadership, Council, and Committee members to prioritize and tackle the challenges facing our members as we all work to improve understanding of weather and climate and use that understanding to solve real-world problems.
