Fire Call for Papers

The 15th Fire and Forest Meteorology Symposium is hosted by the American Meteorological Society and organized by the AMS Committee on Agricultural and Forest Meteorology.

The 15th Symposium on Fire and Forest Meteorology is soliciting papers and posters from the community on the following topics:

  • Decision Support Tool Development and Communication;
  • Field Studies;
  • Modeling Studies of Low-Intensity Fire-Atmosphere Interactions;
  • Operational Forecasting (Short- to Long-Term) of Weather;
  • Other Fire and Forest Meteorology Symposium Topics;
  • Quantifying fire impacts on terrestrial hydrology with observations and models;
  • Sensitivity Analyses Addressing Prescribed Fire Scenarios;
  • Studies Addressing Vegetation-Atmosphere Interactions Before, During, or After a Prescribed Fire;
  • Studies Combining Field, Laboratory, and/or Modeling Work to Address Knowledge Gaps;
  • Verifying and Evaluating Forecasts

Please submit your abstract electronically via the AMS conference website by 5 December 2024 (see the website for instructions). The abstract submission fee of $120 USD is charged at the time of submission and refundable only if the abstract is not accepted. Authors of accepted presentations will be notified via email by the end of February 2025.
