About the Meeting

AMS conference on middle atmosphere convenes attendees from US and abroad to share research and connect with friends and colleagues. As a community, we focus on processes in the stratosphere and mesosphere, which are found to play important roles in the Earth system from extreme weather patterns to long-term climate changes. This year’s meeting features a panel discussion on the future state of Middle Atmosphere research as well as a mentor-mentee networking reception. We are committed to create an inclusive, equitable and welcoming venue to all attendees and the early career researchers (ECR) are especially encouraged to participate.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship opportunities will be available soon. Interested companies and organizations should contact Adam Kelly.

  • Registration rates for the 24th Conference on Atmospheric and Oceanic Fluid Dynamics & 22nd Conference on Middle Atmosphere are the same for in-person and virtual participants. We made this decision so that we can offer a robust, flexible, and equitable experience for everyone, whether you are in-person or virtual. Other factors involved include:

    • Increased costs for the in-person experience (audiovisual expenses, food and beverage costs, facility rental, on-site labor, travel costs, health and safety protocols etc.)

    • Increased costs for the remote experience (internet and hardware for live streaming, software for messaging and chat, labor, etc.)

    • It makes it easier for attendees to change their registration method from in-person to virtual and vice versa

    • It allows presenters the opportunity to present/facilitate discussion in-person or virtually with an in-person and virtual audience.

Student Assistant

Volunteer students are needed for registration and audio/visual support throughout the conference. Volunteers are required to be in attendance the entire conference, and must be available to work at least a full day from Monday through Friday. In exchange for volunteering, students receive one free conference registration, plus $40.00 per day food allowance. This program is offered on a first come, first served basis. A limited number of students will be needed for the conference. Interested? Please contact Christine Card ([email protected]).
