The 24th Symposium on Boundary Layers and Turbulence (BLT), sponsored by the American Meteorological Society (AMS), and organized by the AMS Committee on Boundary Layers and Turbulence, was to be held 11-15 July 2022 at the Amadria Park Šibenik in Šibenik, Croatia.
Papers and posters were invited on all subjects dealing with atmospheric boundary layers and turbulence, including observational, modeling, theoretical, and applied studies. In particular, we anticipated that dedicated sessions will be organized for the following themes:
- Boundary Layer Processes (theoretical, observational, or computational)
- Atmospheric Turbulence
- Observations and Modeling Related to Renewable Energy Applications
- Observational and Modeling Studies of Boundary Layer Clouds
- Exchange of Trace Gases (H2O, CO2, BVOC, Nitrogen) between the Surface and the PBL
- Modeling and Observations in Heterogeneous, Complex, and Urban Terrain
- Modeling and Observations over Vegetated Canopies
- Boundary Layer Parameterizations in Models at All Scales
- Theoretical and Practical Issues Associated with Multi-Scale Simulations
- Land-Surface-PBL coupling, Impact of Heterogeneity as seen in Modeling and Observations
- Unsteady Boundary Layer Behavior
- Recent Field Experiments (CHEESEHEAD, LAFE, Perdigão, WFIP2, etc.)
- Special Session on the Bora
- Special Session on Fire-Boundary Layer Interactions
