Dear Colleagues,
Thank you for your patience and understanding while AMS leadership closely monitors COVID-19 and its effects on our meetings and events. There is still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding international travel— Croatia has limited gatherings to no more than 25 people; there are continued advisories for US citizens not to travel there; and travel restrictions have been issued by many of our presenters’ and attendees’ employers and organizations. After much deliberation and consultation with our host hotel in Croatia, we have made the decision to once again reschedule the Conference on Boundary Layers and Turbulence. The 24th Conference on Boundary Layers and Turbulence will now be held as part of the 103rd AMS Annual Meeting 8–12 January 2023 in Denver, Colorado. Incorporating this conference into the Annual meeting will offer some unique opportunities to interact with the wider AMS community, and we will plan many joint sessions with other chapters to leverage these opportunities.
We ask that abstract presenters confirm or decline their intent to participate in the 103rd AMS Annual Meeting in Presenter’s Corner by 22 April. Those who decline their intent to participate will have their abstract withdrawn and receive a refund for their abstract fees. Please note that if your presentation is withdrawn you will not be able to upload Supplementary Information. Instructions on how to do so will be available shortly.
An updated/supplementary Call for Papers will be available in May 2022 with a revised abstract submission deadline of 24 August 2022. A final conference agenda will be available in October 2022. Please note: You will be able to make revisions to existing abstracts when the abstract submission portal opens in May. All updates to existing abstracts must be made by 24 August.
AMS is still hoping to hold a future Boundary Layers and Turbulence Conference in Croatia and is actively working to accomplish this. Information on that future conference is forthcoming.
Thank you to everyone who helped us formulate an alternative plan where we can still hold the 24th Conference on Boundary Layers and Turbulence. We look forward to seeing many of you next January!
