Open Access Journals
AMS publishes two fully Open Access journals, in which all content is immediately available for all to freely read upon final publication: AI for Earth Systems (AIES) and Earth Interactions (EI). Authors pay a flat publication fee for each accepted manuscript.
Open Access Option for Authors in AMS Subscription Journals
Access to the full text of Early Online Releases (EORs) and published articles in AMS’s subscription journals (JAMC, JAS, JCLI, JHM, JPO, JTECH, MWR, WAF, and WCAS) is restricted to subscribers for one year from the final publication date. Titles, Abstracts, and author lists for EORs are available to nonsubscribers and subscribers alike.
Papers published in these journals can be made fully and immediately available to all to read via payment of the AMS Open Choice fee. This open access option allows authors to have the full contents of their Early Online Release and/or final published paper made immediately available to all, subscribers and nonsubscribers, on the AMS Journals Online site once the payment has been processed.
Journal authors can request Open Choice when submitting a manuscript. If an article has already been accepted, the selection of Open Choice should be indicated when completing the Page Charge Form. The fee will be included when the paper is invoiced.
Open Access for BAMS
All peer-reviewed articles and online meeting summaries accepted for BAMS, and their corresponding EORs, are freely accessible through AMS Journals Online. The BAMS Digital Edition, a benefit available only to individual members of AMS, includes news and professional information in addition to peer-reviewed content.
