**The 2020 AMS Washington Forum took place in a virtual format. As we were not able to meet in person as planned, we had changed the format of conference to one that is conducive to virtual learning and collaboration. This event still provided an important platform to examine public policy issues across the weather, water, and climate sciences and featured several leadership keynotes. We hoped that by eliminating travel costs and setting registration rates as low as possible, we could maximize participation by those interested in learning more about how weather, water, and climate information can help support risk management across the public and private sectors.**
