Volunteer students are needed for registration and audio/visual support during the conference. Student volunteers are required to be in attendance the entire conference, and be available to work 1/2 each day from Sunday through Friday. The students will work either the first or second shift (i.e., morning or afternoon). For volunteering, the student will get their registration fee waived and $25.00 per day for food allowance. This program is a first come, first served basis. A limited number of students will be needed for the conference. 32nd Conference on Weather Analysis and Forecasting (WAF)/28th Conference on Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP)
Student presentations selected as part of the 32WAF/28NWP conferences have the option of being judged, with a $100 award going to the top 3 oral and poster presentations in each conference (12 awards total). Also, once abstracts have been submitted, the WAF/NWP committee will offer travel grants to students whose abstracts have been accepted, more information on this will be available soon.
20th Conference on Mesoscale Processes
The Mesoscale Processes Committee encourages abstract submissions from students and early career researchers for which awards will be given for best presentations. Registrants should indicate their eligibility for student and early career awards when submitting their abstracts. Further information will be posted soon.
The Mesoscale Processes Committee is also offering a limited number of student travel awards
to help supplement travel expenses. To be eligible for a travel award, the student must be a
current AMS student member, non-resident in Madison, and must have submitted an abstract for
presentation at the meeting. To apply please send your CV and a brief (1/2 page) justification to
the program chairpersons Rosimar Rios-Berrios ([email protected]) and Yunji Zhang ([email protected]) by 17 March 2023.
AMS will be awarding one travel grant to each conference participating at the 32nd Conference on Weather Analysis and Forecasting (WAF)/28th Conference on Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP)/20th Conference on Mesoscale Processes.
