Location
The 36th Conference on Hurricanes and Tropical Meteorology will take place in Long Beach, CA! For more information and to plan your trip check out the Visit Long Beach website here.
All meeting sessions for the conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach at 200 South Pine Avenue, Long Beach, California, 90802.

Long Beach has a vibrant downtown! Please take advantage of the services offered by The Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA) as you explore the area. The DLBA Safety Ambassador program has ambassadors present around the downtown area to give directions, escort people to their hotels and also has a direct line to the Long Beach Police Department. Call 562-244-1365 for a free escort. DLBA Safety Ambassadors are available Sunday through Thursday from 8:00am to 9:45pm; Friday and Saturday from 8:00am to 11:45pm. Accommodations
Attendees are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. We urge you to book your hotel room at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach as revenue from sleeping rooms helps offset other meeting costs and is passed down to attendees in keeping registration rates to a minimum.
A block of rooms was reserved at the hotel for meeting attendees at the special rate of $239.00 plus tax and a group of rooms was at the government per diem* ($182.00) plus tax for those who qualify. Rates do not include applicable taxes, services, or Hotel-specific fees.

*Please note that this rate is available only to federal government employees. Those who book within this block must present a federal government employee ID upon check-in.
Cancellation Policy
Reservation must be cancelled 72 hours before 4 pm arrival time to avoid one night penalty.

Check-out: Before 11:00 AM
Reservation Cut-Off Date: Friday, April 12, 2024
Please note that rooms are available at the AMS rate on a space available basis until this date. To ensure you are able to make a reservation at the AMS rate, we recommend you book as soon as possible.
Transportation
There are many ways to get around Long Beach, including public transit and transportation services such as rental cars, shuttles, taxis and app-based ride services.
