Join us in Washington, D.C. this September for Geosciences Congressional Visits Day (GEO-CVD)!

GEO-CVD is a two-day science policy workshop hosted by AMS alongside other Earth science societies. Participants will learn about Congress and build relationships between AMS and Congressional offices, which will help ensure that Members of Congress and their staffs have access to the best available scientific information relating to weather, water and climate.

This event will be held in-person in Washington, D.C. from 9-10 September 2024. On September 9, participants will participate in a workshop to gain familiarity with the federal policy process. On September 10, participants will meet with Congressional staff members in the House and Senate.

If you are interested in participating, fill out this form by 12 July 2024. Please note that acceptance to the workshop does not provide travel support and that space is limited. Participants will be selected primarily based on areas of expertise and interest, geographic location, and potential for policy engagement.
