Did You Know?

The AMS Education Program has launched MSI-REaCH: Reconstructing Earth's Climate History. This professional development program is for geoscience faculty at minority-serving institutions. The program will be held 21–27 June 2015 in College Station, TX. For information, contact Elizabeth Mills.

For 2014 (through November) the peer review times for AMS periodicals (BAMS and the technical journals) averaged 64 days from completed submission to initial decision and 154 days to final disposition. These record-setting times reflect the hard work of AMS volunteer editors and the peer review support staff. When you combine this with production times now averaging less than 100 days (for the technical journals), we hope you will choose to submit your manuscripts to the AMS!

The AMS is an inclusive society in that it welcomes not only persons who work in areas that further the goals of the Society but also those with a general interest in the science and its applications. Start the new year off by taking advantage of great member benefits, including complimentary subscriptions to Physics Today and BAMS and reduced rates for Weatherwise magazine, conferences, short courses, books, and preprints.
